A Personal Calligraphy (for the tender places within)

Transformation and change are recurring themes in my work. After years living and working in Paris, I finally moved to live by the sea, with its vast, ever-changing energy. How easily we can forget that our dreams have actually come true! Here, I incorporate textual fragments into the visual space of my work, using the echoing line: “Remember when you once craved what you now have?” Working from an artist's book made with Japanese paper, brushes and ink, the five works here map out that feeling of restlessness, exploration and hopefulness. I call this my personal calligraphy, the search for a way to communicate my own restless energy and the pull of the sea.
